2.These are the design principles that had been thought in this module:
-Gestalt theory
(attachment link(principle of proximity))
(attachment link(principle of closure))
"Gestalt" refer to shape or form. It had decided into few different sub title including:
·Principle of similarity which is group or form the shape into the pattern that are related to the theme and let the reader could instantly find out the focus point.
·Principles of continuation, the design could be in lines, path and curves and present in a continuous flow rather than separated object.
·Principle of closure, by filling in missing visual information, user can see in a complete shape that are not complete.
·Principle of proximity is that where the items that are connected or have a relationship are placed together and any unrelated item should be spaced apart.
·Principle of figure/ground refers to people could see two or more images in one design.
·Law of symmetry and order is similar to principle of similarity which is object that are symmetrical to each other will be more likely to grouped together that the object that are not symmetrical.
-Contrast
(attachment link)Contrast can be expressed in different ways such as colours, shapes and light, but whatever it come out in what form, it main purpose is to highlight the subject, and create a contrast between the background and the subject.
-Emphasis
(attachment link)
Emphasis means making something more noticeable so people pay attention to them. This is done by using different colours, size or where things are placed in the design. It helps highlight important stuff and makes the design more effective.
-Balance
(attachment link)
Balance in design is about arranging visual weight evenly to create a sense of stability and harmony. Balance can be do by arranged similarly on both sides of a central point (symmetrical) , or different elements are balanced through contrast and composition (asymmetrical).
-Repetition
(attachment link)
Repetition in design involves using the same or similar elements consistently throughout a composition to create a cohesive and organised look. It helps create a pattern and makes everything in the design fit together nicely. It's like using the same colors, shapes, or fonts to make everything look coordinated and neat.
-Movement
(attachment link)
Movement in design involves creating a visual flow that guides the viewer's eyes through the composition. It's about arranging things in a way that leads you through the design and makes it interesting to look at. For examples, strategic placement of elements, directional cues, or implied motion, providing a dynamic and engaging experience.
-Harmony & Unity
(attachment link)
Harmony and unity in design mean making everything look like it belongs together and feels just right. It's like arranging all the pieces so they fit nicely, creating a design that looks complete and balanced.
-Symbol
The principle of symbol in design involves using visual elements that represent or stand for something else, conveying a specific meaning or message. These symbols make it easier to understand and send a message without using a lot of words. They add meaning and make the design more interesting.
-Word and Image
(attachment link)
The principle of word and image in design emphasises the combination of text and visuals to effectively convey a message or idea. It's like telling a story with both writing and images, making it more interesting and easy to understand. Mixing words and pictures makes the design more powerful and memorable.
3.Selected United Nation' Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG)
The United Nation' Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) that I have chosen is the goal number 5, Gender Equality. This goal is to achieve gender equality and empower all woman and girls. Nowadays, even though we are living in an advanced era, but the sexism still exist in every country, girls always harder to find a job than a boys, the kids protection laws are still having a big loopholes, women and children are still not totally been respect and safe, so today there are still many organizations and people calling for gender equality. One of them is that artists will use their own unique methods and insights to deeply analyze and call for gender equality.
4.Selected art/design work.
I have chosen an illustration drawing that revolves to the goals of gender equality from UNSDG.
